| On the ground floor are two large communal lounges and two of the six rooms of the riad, the “Gold Room”, the dominant colour, a suite that can accommodate three people, and the “Red Room”, double. Antique doors and other old items found in moroccan markets, in addition to vintage pieces, give a very special tone to the place, without ever forgetting the comfort and cosiness. The care of the cleanliness in all rooms, the efficiency of services and the kindness and courtesy of the staff, led by Sofia and Stephane, shall make even the most demanding guest feel like home.On the first floor open onto the central courtyard there are four other rooms, of an equally distinct and unique character. There is the “Blue Room”, with a small sitting room with Thonet chairs, and the “Schifano Room”, with a picture depicting a palm tree, a subject that is frequently found in the great Italian painter’s paintings. In the “Room Majorelle” the attention goes immediately to a big old sign of ongoing work, corroded by weather and time, which looks itself a work of art. Finally, the ”Berber Room”, the closest to Moroccan style. | |||

-Cancellations received 21-30 days before the confirmed arrival date are subject to a cancellation fee of 30% of total projected room costs.
-Cancellations received 11-20 days before the confirmed arrival date are subject to a cancellation fee of 50% of total projected room costs.
-Cancellations received 0-10 days before the confirmed arrival date are subject to a cancellation fee of 100% of total projected room costs.
Cancellation fees will be charged to the credit card supplied during the reservation process.
The Riad Coq Berbère is situated in an ideal position in the hearth of the medina, only a few dozen meters from the place Riad Larouss (taxi) and very close to the souks and important monuments such as the Medersa (ancient coranic school) and the Mosque Ben Youssef. Place Jemaa- al-Fna, since centurys a dayly theatre, is far only 15 min of walking.
The new riad, connected with the twin Coq Fou by the terrace, an old notable’s house, has been restaured and arranged by Elisabetta Caracciolo & Barbara Galanti at the beginning of 2009.
It’s furnished with a natural simplicity and a new particular design by the two Young italian women. The 6 rooms are spacious, everyone with its personality. In the green and scenographic patio there is a pool in the middle. A sitting-room, a dining-room,a pergola and a splendid panoramic terrace/solarium complete this élégant essential house, where is possible to have delicious traditional marocain meals prepared by the magic Jamila’s hands. It’s also possible to enjoy relaxing and tonifiant massages with essential and argan oil. This is a perfect place to rest your body and your mind coming from the caothic, coloured and animated medina of Marrakech. With the guest house owners it’s possible to organize any kind of excursions and tours all around Morocco.

| The staff were helpful but it would have been useful to know beforehand that only one member of staff could speak and understand English fluently. The location was good - close enough to the main attractions but far away enough so that we could have some peace and quiet. I have only two suggestions - one is to increase the number of lights and plug points in each bedroom. The rooms were lovely but there wasn't enough electric lights at night time. Second, I suggest you look at varying the breakfast to cater for palettes that don't like so many sweet things to eat in the morning. Perhaps include eggs and toast as well. | ||

| We enjoyed our stay in the riad. The staff were friendly and helpful even to the extent of saying which areas to avoid and at what times of the day. The riad was very peaceful even though it was only just off the hustle and bustle of the main areas. We would certainly recommend it to our friends if they were going to Marrakech. | ||

| This lovely Riad is conveniently located in the Old City. It is kept extremely clean by the ever-present staff, and the courtyard and rooftop terrace are both relaxing places to spend time reading or drinking tea. The streets of Marrakech are crazy and smelly (mostly due to the polluting motorcycles), so showering frequently is almost mandatory, as is rinsing your clothes. I particularly liked the clothesline stretched out on the sunny rooftop that allowed me to dry my clothes within hours of hanging them. Our host, Bashir, gave us invaluable advice on navigating our way around the town. I would definitely recommend this place to other travellers. | ||

| The Riad was a delightfully relaxing venue for a reunion of 9 friends who met 20 years ago travelling in Africa. We were well looked after and particularly loved the roof terrace. Excellent location, nicely decorated, many traditional features, numerous areas to relax in and lovely staff. Many, many thanks for having us. | ||
