Ideally located in the heart of the medina, the Riad El Ouarda is a charmingly authentic residence. This noble home is a magnificent 17th century palace whose traditional Moroccan splendour has been enhanced by recent renovations made to the highest standards.

At the Riad El Ouarda, the atmosphere is not so much that of a hotel, but rather of a refined home, whose owner, Thierry provides you the warmest of welcomes.

A simple façade conceals a rich interior whose original architecture, subtle colours, authentic furnishings and coloured "Zelliges" make it a place of outstanding beauty. The old painted cedar wood ceilings and the finely chiseled lace-like stucco add to the subtle harmony as do the white walls with their traditional "tadelakt" patterns.

Opening onto two patios, the larger of which is adorned with a pond and fountain, the nine guest rooms (4 suites + 5 spacious guest rooms)are an invitation to lovers of travel. The spacious multilevel terraces offer a striking view of the medina with the Atlas Mountains in the background.

All guest rooms are decorated in their own particular style, color and charm. All quarters have private bathrooms, constructede in tadellakt and shimmering with color in the true Moorish tradition. Suites provide private sitting rooms and luxurious bathrooms. Some suites boast open fireplaces and other private patios.

Meals at the Riad El Ouarda will leave you with mouth watering memories. Served on the terraces or in the lounges during the winter months, they will introduce you to the subtle flavors of Moroccan cuisine and pastries.

Bab Taghzout is one of the oldest of the medina's districts. This quarter is home to many palaces, several of which are occupied by celebrities. It is easy accessible by car and remains one of the least "touristy" parts of the city.

Moroccan riads ‘guesthouses’ have to collect 2 taxes upon their guests:
- Tourism Promotion Tax (TPT): the amount of the tax depends on the property category, 8 or 11 dirhams per people per night. That tax is collected by the properties and integrally put back into Morocco National Tourist Office.
- City Tax (from January 2008): like the hotels and restaurants, ‘guesthouses’ must now collect the City tax. The amount of the City tax is 15 dirhams per people (older than 12 y-o) and per night.

Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations received 21-30 days before the confirmed arrival date are subject to a cancellation fee of 30% of total projected room charges.

Cancellations received 15-20 days before the confirmed arrival date are subject to a cancellation fee of 50% of total projected room charges.

Cancellations received 7-14 days before the confirmed arrival date are subject to a cancellation fee of 75% of total projected room charges.

Cancellations received 3-6 days before the confirmed arrival date are subject to a cancellation fee of 90% of total projected room charges.

Cancellations received 0-3 days before the confirmed arrival date are subject to a cancellation fee of 100% of total projected room charges.

For reservations between Christmas and New Years Day, the establishment requires a downpayment of 50% of total projected room charges that is non refundable in the event of cancellations made within one month prior to the confirmed arrival date.
