Completely renovated in 2001, this traditional Moroccan home is situated in the colorful and bustling quarter of Bab Taghzout in the heart of the historical center of Marrakech. Guests can walk (15 min)or take a direct bus to the famous "place Djema El Fna", a taxi station is only 100 yards awqy, "the Zaouïa Sidi Bel Abbès" on your doorstep and the renowned Médersa Ben Youssef within walking distance. These assets make Dar Zouar an ideally situated guesthouse in a part of Marrakesh that is user-friendly and practical for all visitors.
The Calm and serenity of this guesthouse is one its strong points. Your afternoon nap will only be slightly distracted by the charming singing of the birds or by the harmonious calls for prayers coming from the muezzins of the Imperial City.
Thierry Dugast, Dar Zouar's proprietor, has been living in Morocco for over 20 years so it's needless to stay that he knows the country particularly well. Together with his team of skilled local employees, this French man from Brittany will give you a pleasant and convivial welcome.

| Especially I'd like to thank the young man who was very politely taking care of every single customer. What is unforgettable of the stay in, that this young man woke up at 03:00 o'clock in th morning and made us the the and the cofee and the creps ready for the breakfast whe had to have at 04:00. | We were very well looked after and received personal attention that made our stay much easier. For example the Assistant Manager helped us find local food stalls which were cheap and provided vegetarian options which we needed. he bought us eggs so we could cook our own breakfast eggs and then he made them for us after seeing how we wanted them. Good recommendations for trips. | ||

| We loved Dar Zouar - it's about a twenty minute walk to the big square, and we liked being in an area where normal life was going on around us, rather than just being geared up for tourists. Thierry and his staff were kind and helpful - we would go there again. | ||
