A virtual open air museum, Fez will enchant you with its cultural richness and diversity. Everywhere you look are medersas, mosques, fountains decorated in mosaics … The architecture clearly reflects the varied styles of the different reining dynasties throughout the ages, each of whom have left their imprint on the museum-city. Generally, museums are open from 08h45 to 12h and from 15h to 18h except for Tuesdays when they are closed. Entry fees are 10 Dh.

Dar Batha Museum
Founded in 1915, the Dar Batha has a wonderful collection of antiques and traditional Fassie art works such as embroideries, zellige, sculpted works, jewelry, iron works and ceramics. The museum is located in a Hispanic Mauresque palace constructed in in the 19th century in the Alaouite architectural style. The palace belonged to the Sultans Hassan I and Moulay Abdelaziz.

Arms Museum
Located just next to the ramparts, this museum is an ancient fort from the 16th century. Its construction began in 1582 by the Saadian Sultan Ahmed El Mansour. Twenty four halls house the arms collection that includes a wide representation of different weapons used throughout Moroccan history.

Fendag En Nejjarine
Consacrated to wood working, this small museum is located in an ancient caravanserail from the 18th century. Unesco is responsible for launching this project. The pieces of art are fascinating and show the complexity of this age old trade.
